A column of solid travertine, a disc resting on top like a balancing stone: NIXO is composed in two gestures, no more than that. The stone is carved from a single block — its cavities, its layers, its shades of beige were not designed by anyone, they were already there. Thirty-two centimeters that occupy a console like a small sculpture, not like a light fixture.
The source is hidden beneath the disc, in a ring of polished chrome metal. It does not flood the room: it glides along the cone and reveals the material, layer after layer. A warm white 3000K, no bulb in sight, no harsh shadows — the soft light of hotel lobbies, brought down to table height.
On an entryway console, at the end of a sideboard, as an off-center bedside lamp: NIXO requires twenty centimeters of surface and creates an entire atmosphere. Its 150 cm cord includes an easily accessible switch, and the plug is chosen upon order — EU, UK, US, or AU — so that it follows you wherever you live.
