No vein repeats itself. Alabaster carries within it the signature of time — a piece, a character, a light. No molds. No repetition. Natural alabaster does not do the same thing twice.
DENCI is captured in a single gesture: a cylindrical volume of alabaster, supported by a discreet metal fitting. The stone is carved from a solid block, never reconstituted, and it does all the work.
Light does not emanate from DENCI; it passes through it. The alabaster filters, softens, and warms — creating a gradient that changes with the time of day.
Each block is extracted and then individually carved: veins, color, and degree of translucency vary from one piece to another. The one you receive will not resemble any other — that is the trade-off, and the appeal, of natural stone.

A natural, translucent stone. Switched off, it stays matte; switched on, light passes through it and reveals its veins.
From quarry to workshop.
Cut, turned, then sanded: the thinner the wall, the softer the light.
