Körven Studio is a house built around a simple conviction: light is not an accessory. It is what brings a space to life, reveals a material, creates an atmosphere.
Every piece we create starts with this idea—that a light fixture must do more than illuminate. It must exist.
The origin of the name
Körven comes from Old Swedish. The word refers to willow—that supple and resilient plant that Nordic artisans worked to create objects made to stand the test of time. A humble, yet noble material. A simple, yet precise gesture.
This is the spirit we carry at Körven Studio: objects thoughtfully designed with rigor, shaped from materials that age well, created to become a lasting part of an interior.
Raw materials
Stone, glass, brass. Materials that existed before us and will outlast trends.
Travertine absorbs and diffuses light differently depending on the time of day. Alabaster becomes translucent depending on its thickness. Brass develops a patina—it doesn't age, it evolves. Blown glass retains the trace of the breath of the person who shaped it: each piece is slightly different from the next.
Properties that nothing artificial can truly imitate.
What we want is for a Körven light fixture, once placed in your home, to no longer be noticed as a purchase — but as a natural fit.
